‘Industrial Visit for the final year students (BES-2020) on 16th August at Envoy Textiles Limited, the world's first LEED Certified Green Denim Factory situated in Bhaluka, Mymensingh
Under the guidance of respected Dean, FST, the department of Environmental Science organized a ‘Industrial Visit for the final year students (BES-2020) on 16th August at Envoy Textiles Limited, the world's first LEED Certified Green Denim Factory situated in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. The purpose of this visit was to give students a chance to engage with business professionals, learn about production techniques and environmental sustainability practices. A total of 45 students visited the industry accompanied by the Chairman, DES, Faculty member and staffs.
The visiting team was welcomed by the host industry. At first, the Divisional Head, General Manager (Human Resource) and AGM (Sustainability Department) gave an insightful presentation about that overall operations and environmental sustainability practices of Envoy Textiles Limited in their audio visual center. After that, the students were split into two groups and given a detailed tour of the factory grounds by the factory staff where students learned about a variety of practical topics, including production processes, environmental sustainability practices, ETP operations, green technology and many other environmental issues. Finally, the visiting team received a complementary lunch from the factory and the visit concluded with a formal thanksgiving session.
To lessen the production of plastic wastes and to promote zero discharge of plastic wastes, the students didn't carry any plastic water bottles during the whole visit.
The experience was beneficial for the final year students from the Department of Environmental Science, BUP to excel their future career prospects.
